FAQ

Questions We Hear Often

Plain answers about insurance, urgent visits and what a first visit involves.

01Do you take my insurance?

We bill most PPO dental plans and file the claim for you. Whether we are in network depends on your plan, so ask us before you book. Our fees page explains how each type of plan works.

02What if I don't have insurance?

Tell us when you call. We give a written estimate before treatment starts, so you know the fee before you say yes. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

03Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?

Ask us when you call and we'll tell you plainly whether we can bill it for your visit.

04Will it hurt?

We numb the area before treatment you would feel and check that it is working. Tell us if you feel anything and we stop. We can't promise you will feel nothing.

05What counts as an emergency, and what do I do first?

Our emergency page lists what to call us about and what to do first. Swelling that spreads to your face, eye or neck, or trouble breathing or swallowing, needs an emergency room or 911.

06Will you see me the same day?

We hold time each weekday for urgent visits. Whether we can see you the same day depends on the schedule when you call, and we tell you on the phone.

07What if I'm nervous about the dentist?

Tell us when you call. You can raise a hand to stop, wear headphones and ask for each step to be explained first. Ask which comfort options the practice offers, who gives them and how you are watched during them.

08How long does a first visit take?

A new-patient exam takes about an hour. An urgent visit lasts as long as the problem needs, and we tell you what to expect when you call.

09Can I get a written estimate before treatment?

Yes. Ask at scheduling or at your visit. The estimate lists the treatment, the visits it takes and what it will cost.

10Do you see children?

We treat adults and teens. For younger children, ask us when you call and we'll tell you what we can do or point you to a children's dentist.

11How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?

The dentist decides from your teeth, your gums and your history. Ask at your exam.

12How do I cancel or change a visit?

Call us as soon as you know, so someone else can use the time.
